Project Description

Ludwig Beck swim wear department

From the pool party to the sailing trip – the department for swimwear, home and beachwear, which is directly adjacent to the children’s department on the 2nd floor, is all about water. The wall shelf system is reminiscent of masts from sailing. It stretches elegantly in the form of a trapezoid from the ceiling over the wall. A visual highlight is the “Olympic roof”. It consists of an artistic staircase encasing made from recycled ropes. The lashing is not only a space-defining element for the spiral staircase, but is also a goods carrier that follows the shape of the lashing. Some of the walls are also designed accordingly, giving them a transparent, very airy character. Bamboo wood, natural tones and shades of blue in the water create a holiday mood. Another eye-catcher is the “swimming pool” – a tiled room with a roof made of span arches, as is known from indoor pools. The idea came about when Breil+ was considering how to integrate the existing atrium with a glass roof into the swimming pool theme.
